This page is one of those that make me think the comic artists who keep a folder of pre-drawn backgrounds have the right idea. I hate that porch railing and I don't know why I decided to give them railing like that.
Actually, I do know. I love a similar style of fences, and can't afford to get 'em. Living vicariously through our comic characters, yay?
For the record, there's a pink plush toy of some cloven-hoofed persuation, wearing a white dress, on that shelf behind Sarah's speech bubble. It has heart paw pads. I think a couple of Sarah's grandparents took her to some Build-A-Bear-like place for it at some point. Unfortunately, it's covered by a speech bubble.
